If you are planning on visiting Paso Robles during the Harvest Wine Tour, check out this educational seminar . . .
SIP: Paso Robles Wine Country, debuts on October 20, 2006 in conjunction with the Paso Robles Harvest Wine Tour, October 20, 21 and 22. SIP stands for Studies in Place and this interactive seminar is designed to educate visitors and enthusiasts about the distinct, different characteristics of Paso Robles wines before they head out for a weekend of touring and additional SIP-related activities at wineries.
The condensed two-hour format will include overviews of viticulture and winemaking in Paso Robles, as well as a guided tasting through four of the region’s key varietals: Viognier, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Zinfandel. A walk-around varietal tasting and question-and-answer session will follow the seminar. This event is geared toward enthusiasts and is separate from the SIP: Paso Robles Trade & Media Tour, scheduled for October 11 and 12. The seminar is being offered at $50 per person, and will take place at the Paso Robles Inn ballroom beginning at 10 a.m. Friday, October 20, serving as an early kick-off for all the Harvest Wine Tour weekend activities. Tickets are available at www.pasowine.com.
